Insurance Frequently Asked Questions

For the most part the following applies to insurance coverage for Dr. Ann Aresco. If you are not sure of coverage you can check with the following insurance companies online. You can also call your company to verify coverage. In Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians are Specialists.

If your company does not have a provider list for ND’s, coverage will be out of network and the patient will have to file the claim. The fee for the visit will be due at the time of service. Our office will provide you with a completed claim form to send to your insurance company. Some plans specifically state that Naturopathic Physicians are not covered. You may need to check with the HR group at your company to see if this is the case.

United Healthcare, Oxford coverage:
Both cover Naturopathic Physicians – for Dr. Aresco it will be out of network coverage. Fees will be due at the time of the visit. Our office will provide you with the paper work to be reimbursed by these companies.

Medicare coverage:
As a primary coverage Medicare does not cover ND’s. If there is a primary policy with Medicare as a secondary the visit will be covered under the same guidelines as above. If the Medicare is primary and a Blue Cross policy is a supplemental policy not a secondary policy, then Blue Cross will cover. This is for the most part state employee plans, teachers etc.
